Good Times Pubs & Bars is an independently owned and operated pub group in Brighton & Hove, UK. Established in 2019, our journey began with the take-over and renovation of the George Payne in 2012. By 2013 it was awarded 'Best Turnaround Pub of the Year' at The Great British Pub Awards. Since then, Good Times Pubs & Bars have acquired another four premises across the city. Our focus is on breathing life back into previously tired old pubs and creating community spaces with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and great food & drink. All of our venues are family friendly & dog friendly with a wide range of events booked year-round so there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Our latest additions to the Good Times family are The Lewes Road Inn & The Basketmakers Arms.
Good Times Pubs & Bars is also the owner of Hove Gelato.
An authentic Italian gelato business offering an incredible selection of delicious and exciting flavours, freshly handmade on our premises.
Hove Gelato was founded by Zoe Rodgers after travelling to Italy to learn the art of gelato making from masters of the craft. Flavours are available as vegetarian/vegan options too so there's something for everyone.
Hove Gelato is available year round at all of our locations.
Needless to say, it's a big hit with families and foodies alike.

Following on from the success of The George Payne, Good Times took on the task of bringing the Whistlestop Inn into the 21st century. Now one of the largest venues in our group, The Railway Inn provides a family-friendly pub experience for the Portslade community.
Good Times then moved further into Hove, taking on the Poets Corner. A once proud pub that needed some love and TLC. Now The Poets Ale & Smokehouse, it is a bright & cosy pub with a dedicated following for it's exceptional smokehouse menu and regular coverage of the Rugby, F1, Tennis & more.
Next up was our acquisition of the Foragers in Hove. After extensive renovations, we've breathed new life into a once great pub, including the restoration of it's original moniker dating from 1884. Now with four guest bedrooms above the pub, The Stirling Arms Pub & Rooms is a cosy chic venue at the heart of the 4streets community.
In early 2020, we took on the infamous Franklin Arms in Brighton.
After an essential re-fit and full refurbishment, The Lewes Road Inn now offers a friendly community space for local families, students & workers to enjoy great value food & drinks amidst the hustle & bustle of the busy Lewes Road area. We have a wonderful new beer garden with a kids play area and a covered front terrace to watch the world go by.
Good Times has recently taken on The Basketmakers Arms in central Brighton. An award-winning and cherished Brighton institution, we reopened the doors of the Basketmakers in August 2020 to offer the same great experience locals have come to
know & love over the years.
As of October 2022, we have just broken ground in Worthing, reaching a total of 7 pubs with our acquisition of The Cricketers. After an extensive renovation, this Broadwater pub re-opened to the public April 2023.
All of our venues are family & dog friendly community spaces with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly, professional staff. We also offer a great selection of weekly deals on food & drink to offer all our customers something a little extra, for less.
