Junior Sous CHEF - Full time
 

The Railway Inn is a busy community pub next to Portslade train station. It is a large site that also caters for events with its own private hire room. In normal times there is always something happening with quiz nights, music events, craft clubs and a range of other eclectic entertainment.


We have a steady food trade in the week with various food offers and specials board options.  Our menu is focused on
good quality, Mexican street food inspired fare with a mixture of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes.
Our Traditional Roasts are very popular so Sunday lunch service is a busy day for the pub.


Behind the scenes we have a production kitchen that is busy making various doughs, homemade gelato and deserts to distribute to our other sites.

We have just built a butchery room at another site which all our chefs will have access to.

 

Ideal experience/ candidate
 

  • We are looking for a Junior Sous chef who wants to work hard, learn and progress

  • Appreciates the importance of consistency, helping to run the kitchen to the required standard when the head chef is off

  • Loves cooking with the freshest ingredients

  • Good knowledge of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free dishes

  • Good at creating a professional yet fun environment to work in for your team

  • Cool headed in a high-volume environment

  • Organised and able to support the head chef to achieve financial target

  • On top of food hygiene and allergen checks

  • Health and safety aware

  • You need to have several years’ experience in a similar role with a passion for the pub industry

Sous Chef - Full time
 

The Basketmakers is a cosy locals pub in the North Laine, central Brighton. It is known for it's choice of real ales and traditional British food. This is a small site within a high footfall area so has a steady food trade throughout the day.


The food offer is traditional British cuisine with a focus on seafood dishes on our daily specials board. Sunday lunch service is a popular part of the week.

Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free dishes are a well-established part of our food offer.

Behind the scenes we have a production kitchen at The Railway Inn that helps make various doughs, homemade gelato and deserts to distribute to our other sites.
 

We have just built a butchery room at The Poets Ale and Smokehouse which all our chefs will have access to.

Sous Chef - Full time
 

The George Payne is a community pub in Poets Corner, Hove. The pub serves a pan Asian menu Monday – Saturday with traditional roasts on Sunday which is a popular day of the week.


We have owned the pub since 2012 and it is very much at the heart of the local community. Alongside our pan Asian menu, we offer a good selection of real ales and wines. When restrictions are lifted, we offer a range of entertainment.

The Lewes Road Inn Brighton

 

Chef de partie - Full time
 

The Lewes Road Inn is a community pub on the Lewes Road. This has had an extensive refurbishment but due to the current climate we have not had the opportunity to push the pub to its full potential yet.
It is a large site and once restrictions are lifted it will have a whole host of eclectic entertainment, live music and events.

 

The food offer is based around our very big pizza oven alongside traditional British dishes. Our head chef is a pizza master and is looking for a CDP to support him and the Sous Chef in what has the potential to be a bustling site.
Vegetarian/ vegan/ gluten free dishes are a popular part of our food offer. Sunday lunch service has the potential to be a big part of the week.

Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter
 

  • You will be helping our chefs in a busy kitchen

  • Various shifts including evening and weekend work

  • You will be required to help with food service, make deserts, wash up, assist our chefs and help prep food

  • You need to be physically fit and a good team player. We have full-time and part time hours

  • Wage to be discussed dependant on experience

  • Usual holiday pay, pension scheme, flexible working hours, food on shift

front of house supervisor - Full time
 

The Stirling Arms is a community pub in poets corner, Hove. The pub serves a middle eastern inspired gourmet kebab concept alongside quality drinks offers. We will soon be opening 4 bed and breakfast rooms. We will be hosting a range of eclectic entertainment once restrictions are lifted.
 

Ideal experience / candidate
 

We are looking for a full time Supervisor to work at The Stirling Arms in Hove. This is a full-time position (40 hours a week) supporting our two managers run the pub. You need to have a personal licence and experience in a similar role.
A background in restaurant service and or hotel service would be an added bonus.

We are looking for someone with a real passion for the industry, who wants to progress into a management role.

Starting pay for this role is £10.00 - £10.50 an hour, however this will be discussed dependant on experience. 
If you excel in this role, we have excellent opportunities for advancement.

Assistant Manager - Full time

We are currently looking for an outgoing assistant manager to join us at The Basketmakers Arms. Your role will be to support the general manager in providing great service and the day-to-day challenges of running a cosy but busy pub in a popular tourist area of the city. All of our venues are family & dog friendly community spaces with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly, professional staff. We run all our own kitchens offering a wide range of culinary styles using the best local suppliers and produce.


 

Ideal experience / candidate
 

  • A people person, with a love for hospitality

  • Positive thinker, capable of using initiative

  • 2yrs management experience

  • Great attention to detail

  • Confident with all aspects of food service

  • Comfortable cashing up & locking up

  • Strong cellar management including handling real ales

  • Have a clear grasp of stock control and the ability to do line checks

  • Must hold a personal licence
